Your tax class

It is printed on your tax card. Pick the situation that fits you.

Your tax class is shown on your tax card (fiche de retenue d’impôt), which you can view on MyGuichet.lu. It depends on your household:

Class 1: single people without children, and people divorced or separated for more than three years.

Class 1a: single people with a child in their household, and single people aged 65 or over.

Class 2: married couples and civil partners taxed jointly, and during the first three years after a divorce or separation.

A few extras

Optional. Leave them as they are if they do not apply to you.

€PER MONTH
Non-cash benefits from your employer, such as the taxable value of a company car or a housing allowance. They are taxed and subject to social security, so they lower your cash take-home pay even though you do not receive them as cash.

Only changes the employer cost. Class 1 applies to most small businesses with low absenteeism.

This is an estimate for a Luxembourg resident employee, not tax advice. It uses the 2026 income tax scale (unchanged from 2025), the 2026 social security rates, the minimum wage from 1 June 2026 and the 2026 CIS and CI-CO2 tax credits, calculated over a full year. Your payslip can differ, for example because a 13th month is taxed separately, because of deductions on your tax card, or because of the temporary CIC 2026 tax credit paid from June to December 2026.
